Rules for publication (icon painter)
Anyone want to join the list of icon painters in accordance with the following rules will be accepted, whether individual or laboratory, teacher, student or beginner.
Motivations
The request for publication indicates the desire to belong to the community of those who put their artistic skills to faith in Christ and in service of his Church, painting icons and encouraging their spread in places of worship and homes.
The publication aims to make visible the spread of the iconography in Italy and beyond.
Publication motivated by vanity or for commercial purposes is not acceptable, and is therefore inadmissible.
Free service
The publishing service is free forever until revoked by the person concerned or until the closure of the site www.iconecristiane.it
However, the direction of the site reserves the right to cancel - at its sole discretion and without obligation to state reasons - individual images or entire gallery if the conditions set before (see Motivations) are not being met.
Characteristics of images
- Style. Are considered publishable images related to Byzantine religious art.
- Materials. The site publishes the icons on wood or executed in fresco and resumed in full.
- images in particular will be published only in partial absence of the corresponding whole picture;
- where more icons represent the same subject, it is chosen and published one;
- images that reflect the icons placed in the environment in which it is installed will normally be excluded;
- publication does not apply to images on glass, parchment, wax, ornaments, eggs, logs and other media other than food and fresco.
- Aesthetics. From the aesthetic point of view, the management of the site makes no selection, believing that all those who paint icons do with prayer intentions, and to increase faith in Christ and that the value of the icon does not depend on aesthetic beauty . The responsibility for selection of images from the aesthetic point of view is therefore of the person seeking the release, but common sense suggests to take into account the iconology an expert said: “a beautiful icon is a prayer to God, but a bad image prevent it. “
- Accuracy of meanings. Pictures with meaning or symbolism in contrast with the truths of faith will not be published. For example, an icon of the Holy Family with St. Joseph who puts his hand on the shoulder of the Blessed Virgin Mary will not be published.
Timing of publication
The publication is rapid, consistent with commitments to manage the site.
Mode
The details will be published in one of the following
- by placing a link to the site of iconography, if it has one
- publishing a gallery of images within the site www.iconecristiane.it
- both published (link and image gallery)
There is no minimum or maximum number of photos. At any time the applicant may request to modify the content of the gallery with insertions, deletions or substitutions.
At the discretion of the applicant, you can also publish even one or more of the following:
- a concise CV, relative to the location in the world of iconography (recommended)
- Postal address
- e-mail (recommended)
- Phone number
Photo Features
Photos are preferable to good resolution (suggested at least 8 megapixels)
Photos must be in electronic format, such as JPG
Focused and clear photos are preferable to dark or blurry pictures.
Photos rhomboid, curved or crooked may be modified by the management of the site to get a better shot.
